  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Little help with a configuration, please...

for my 2nd cam, i want to re-create the stripped down set-up used by Mark Neveldine in this picture:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3209&highlight=mark+neveldine

what accessories do i need to get this done? jeff kilgroe mentions a "top plate" (top rail/plate, top grip handle, LCD, battery, and a lens), but i don't see anything called a "top plate" in the store...is this the bottom plate mounted to the top?

not quite sure how to put this puzzle together with just web images...

Check with element technica for the top plate. Email them and ask them to send a list of their products.

2 top mounts (they attach to camera , rods slide in them and handle attaches to front top mount) ,
2 -12" rods , Batt quick plate/w universal mount & batt , lcd screen with 5" arm,

thanks for the help, fellas...

the element technica ultra light rods look very good for minimizing weight, although i did not see a top plate on the list that they sent me...but i think donatello nailed down the mounting needs for me...appreciate it!

IIRC, donatello has the right accessories listed for Neveldine's super-light handheld config. Some things to consider there, especially if you're not using a RED DRIVE is to go with the quick plate battery mount instead of the cradle. ET's Ultra Rods are a lot lighter than steel ones and still very strong. ET's "top plate" is a cheese plate that mounts in between the two RED top mounts. Very handy for mounting all sorts of stuff. This was not used in Neveldine's lightweight configuration... That old thread can be found here: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3209

Oh, a top-handle extension may be handy too.
