and will not have had a chance to use it! My number has finally come up, but alas, I cannot make proper use of this spectacular camera right now. It hurts, but I cannot afford to NOT sell it.

This is definitely an opportunity to get yourself a camera ASAP, as I have received my 'almost ready to ship, complete your order' email. Also, I will order only the accessories that you want, at cost. The only profit I expect to make is on the body.

PM me your offer on the body only, and then we can talk accessories. Of course, you'll have to pay the $500 extra to transfer the warranty. I'm in NYC, fyi.

Mr. Jannard, thank you for bringing this camera to life. I will definitely be getting one to keep in the near future(possibly Scarlet!), when things change for me.

As for the rest of you, please be prompt with your offers, as I must order soon!

PS The serial # is in the 770's, and you'll get the cherished 'R'!

If I'm reading the Terms correctly, the $500 fee is for an "evaluation" by Red of the equipment, after which they make a determination about offering you a 90-day warranty. See section 6c: http://www.red.com/terms

Has anyone actually gone through this process, or otherwise know what the re-certified warranty fee is on a new camera?

Thanks for clarifying. My words painted an inaccurate picture. However, I will say that the box will be unopened, and you could send it back to RED in that state. I don't see why they would charge anything beyond the initial $500 in such a scenario...

presume if you dont "Register" your camera, then the buyer will go through that process with red and thus be the rightful recipient of full warranty?

any one from red who can confirm this as it wont be the last time this happens?
