  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

System Feedback Wanted

No matter what I select, all I get from Quicktime renders is the first frame. Here's the log, any help would be good as I am in shock this is not working!

03:58:24.00 INFO : ---------------------------------------------------
: Media registry does not exist.. (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\REDCINE\Media\\MediaLibrary.reg)

this looks like one problem at least, there may be more.

the registry is missing this file, so at first glance i'd say this is a Redcine codec problem. i don't know what is in this file, but probably the codec compressor information.

can you download previous versions of redcine?

search your hard drive, maybe the installer put it in the wrong location.

fire up regmon, it should look like this.

First, let me say our boy GAlexandar or "Chaos" should be working at RED. I think he's fixed the First Frame Frozen issue. I will post this in it's own thread.
Look for it

Project frame rate seems to be 25 fps, but at every clip there is shown 24 fps. Does this affect anything ?? Because all clips were shot with 25 fps or 50 fps ?????

A little bit later at an other clip it is not showing the 24 fps tag........

You want the project set to the same fps as the clips (in normal situations)

PC
XP Pro
ATI FireGL 5200 w 256mb RAM
2.4ghz Quad Core
2gb RAM

The footage plays in real time from the raid in med proxy mode and all of the Redcine tools work great, until we try to export where the errors occur, or the frames that do render are corrupt. I reported this in the 4k work flow forum as well and Brent is aware of the issue.

on my macbook pro crashes redcine in that case when the project and all r3d files are on an external harddisk - exit redcine - and if the external disk with the last project is not mounted and you open redcine then crashes, because it is not finding the last opened project.

- laptop, mac pro, etc.
- system hardware (cpu, memory)
- Operating System (OS X, Windows, please include version numbers)
- graphics card (vendor, model, memory, driver version)

Mac Pro, first gen Octo Mac, 5GB RAM, 10.5.1, ATI 1900 card, QT 7.3.1, repairing permissions didn't fix crash on launch, just made it take longer to crash. You guys supporting 10.5.x yet?

Well I've been beating my head against something trying to get some non-trashed output from RedCine on my home system.
Specs.
Dual core 6600
4 Gigs ram
ATI X1950 w/updated drivers
In an earlier version I could get some QT output without overlays but nothing but highly posterized and black frames now.
We have it on an 8 core mac at work and it's perfect.
edit: it is trashed on everything QT, DPX, TIFFs etc.

same issues her with trashed output.
Windows XP Pro, Service pack 2
Intel Quad core
4GB Ram
ATI Radeon HD3870 (tried different drivers)

I also get trashed output (black frames or "rainbowed color" frames) from a latptop running a quadro NVS140 also on XP

dell 1507 dual core laptop
vista and xp
ati graphics card

does not work at all ever on this graphics card.

tested on xp and vista, larger selection of Athlon Dual, Athlon X2, all generation Xeon from socket 603 to 775.

ati 9600 doesn´t work.
nvidia 6600 doesn´t work.
any Matrox doesn´t work.
chipset P-series intel doesn´t work.
chipset nvidia 610/630 doesn´t work.

unstable, but often working, most also with 2GB.
nvidia 7600, 7800, 8600, quadro 4500.

6-second interface freezes (presumably caused by frame updates) with REDCine in "1/4 medium" resolution mode. Even longer delays at higher resolutions

Apple Quad 2.66 2GB RAM
Redcine freeze frames around frame 90, everytime.
useless.
