I naively thought that the RED STORE had all items listed on the main page and that the categories to the left would only filter what you wanted to see. Quite dumb of me I guess :)

The point is, I didn't realize that there was an AC Adapter for sale. Is this included with the body?

Thanks a lot,

Gary

no, according to the RED STORE the RED ONE Camera Includes: Camera body, P/L Mount, Accessory Cables, Operations Guide, License for REDCINE software.

By joke, 1st Camera Body can have direct AC 110-240 ......No More worry in the Studio and We have UPS of course.

Hamlet: Right. Exactly! What does "Accessory Cables" mean? If it's body only, what cables would it come with if not the ability to turn it on? :)

REDHKSC: Are you saying that I can plug this thing into the wall directly now? Or are you pulling my leg?

Thanks for your quick reply guys. This forum pretty much rules.

Yes, there are actually two ways to do this; with the standalone AC adapter or you can purchase the DC power cable that connects directly to the battery charger. The only downside to that option is that you can't charge the batteries while powering the camera. Either way, constant power is available.

Ironically, the DC power cable costs more than the entire AC adapter (with it's own cable) itself!

Thanks, but just to clarify, "Accessory Cables" that are included with the body do not allow you to plug it in and get power, right?

Now that you mention it, a DC power cable does come standard with the RED Power Pack. The cables weren't available for the first 100 owners when we picked up our cameras, so they gave us the standalone AC adapters instead. Now you get the cable included with the charger package and the option of purchasing the adapter separately. We had to do it the other way around, but either way you're covered.

Right...it does not include a power cable or supply.

I assume these "accessory" cables are just the (1) mini xlr to XLR and mini bnc to BNC that they give you with the camera.

To power the camera you need one of the two optional power supplies described above.

That's true, but I can't imagine that anyone is going to purchase the camera and not get at least the power pack. And since the cable is included in that package, you're good to go! :-)

Agreed...I went with the Charger even though I dont actually use it to charge. I am using Anton Bauer batts.

Which AB batts are you using? I have a bunch of Anton Bauer ProPac 14 batts. Since they are rated at only 60 watt/hours, I'm wondering if they'll power the RED at all, or just give me a shorter run time.
