  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ARRI raises prices on Matteboxes and Follow Focus Units

(I'm going to get toasted for this, but I THINK it's worth putting here)

Due to the falling US dollar overseas, I have just been told that ARRI raised the prices on its Mattebox and Follow Focus units a little over 3% today.

I can't speak to other ARRI products, but I know about these.

Our GROUP BUY of ARRI matteboxes and Follow Focus units will be UNAFFECTED by this price increase. ARRI and Abel Cine will hold our numbers to their current levels until the end of the deal.

The deadline for this deal was supposed to be Dec 10th, but due to this info, I am going to try to get a small extension.

I believe we now have enough people to move the deal forward. Now it's just a matter of getting anyone who wants something involved.

As I metioned in my PM, I'm pretty sure to go with your Arri deal. I just have to check with Brian Goff when he's back from LART. I'll send the confirmation as soon as possible.

Jay I checked out the thread and I'm still not confident on what the package and deal exactly is. There's a lot of discussion and it's hard to know what now holds.

If it's not a major pain could you provide a summary in this thread??

If it is a pain no probs I'll just have to stop being lazy and weave my way through the thread taking some notes.

Hi, there are basically THREE deals you can get in on here:
1) The basic for the MB20II
2) FF4
3) ND filter package + extras

IMPORTANT: As far as I understand you have to buy the MB20II to get in on the other deals. (I am not sure about this, but it´s how I interpret it)

You actual cost on the Mattebox would be $4,498.66

Some quick points:
You CANNOT change the items Arri is giving away with this deal.

The deal is, if you buy the filter package listed, you get the extras for free, if you feel like changing it, you could always ask...

But it was given as a package.

I thought it was possible to get in on the Formatt filter package deal even if you don't get an MB20II mattebox.

Also, Formatt doesn't make a glass HD ND1.8 filter. If you want the Formatt ND1.8, it is made of resin.

This is correct AFTER we hit 20 Matteboxes (Which I think we will have by tomorrow)

I've just secured a new bulk deal from Arri (Aust) which discounts $1,500 off the price of a ANY Arri production matte box and $1,200 off follow focus. Link here
