It's a time to open new tread for using Leica lenses with Birger mount on RED.

I will start with Leica Summicron-R 50mm f/2.

"It is one of the two or three best standard lenses in the world."
Erwin Putz>>>

It's like PANAVISION Primo L Series quality lens.

The first tests on RED will come in January.

Here below there is a prolog or it is about the pictures done with Canon 30D wih Leica-R to EOS adapter.

"Brilliance, edge sharpness and resolution smoothly work together to
create images with crisp rendition and almost a 3-dimensional
effect. Most objects are 3-dimensional and should, when projected
onto a flat plane (paper or screen), keep these properties"

Erwin Putz>>>

Today shots (November 27, 2007).

Hi Sanjin,

This is fun to read and I'm glad you are so excited about Leica, how about some comparison shots with canon or nikon primes or even zooms? at f2 or f2.8. 50mm's all look pretty much the same to me at f11

Another reason to go with Canon Birger Mount? is the lieca to eos adapter rock solid?

Doc Holliday,

It's a rock solid. I bought one in Adorama and another semi-automatic in Haoda Fu online shops.

If something get wrong with it I go for Zoerk that is Made in Germany and also the most expensive.

Matt,

I collected a lot of vintage cine and still glass for RED that are all in a different mounts starting from PL to still lenses from Nikon, Canon, Sigma, Leica, Zeiss, Cooke, Schneider Kreuznach, Hasselblad, etc.

All waiting for RED and tests.

Anyway Leica performed the best.

So the tests would come in January also when RED and Birger EOS will come to me.

Stay tuned.

Are you feeling to get 3D like shots with RED?

Have a look below:

If it wasn't for the depth of field I'd swear that deer was about to give birth :)

LMAO!
And the girl is helping her with that.

Lecia 3D lens quality effect blows up people's imagination.

Can't wait for RED to see how all that look with moving images!!!:sorcerer: :ninja: :w00t:

ThirdMan,
Is there a leica to nikon adaptor that's easily available? Have you shot with leica to nikon yet?
Thanks for the thread by the way. Very beautiful pictures of Vienna. My cousin used to live there. I've been a few times. He lived in the suburb of Modling as I remember.

Evolve,

Leica-R lenses you can use with adapter on Canon EOS.

Some Leica-M lenses you can use with Nikon and you would need Visoflex adapter.

Wien - schon schön!

Like all cities Vienna has a good and bad sides.

Also: Wien ist Anders (Vienna is different).

And here at this point start the truth about Vienna.

Here at the forum there are some links to those examples:
