Hi all,

I finally got a chance to load up RedCINE last night, but on my machine it shows simply a completely black frame within the project size window. If the frame size is not set to scale into the window, and the window is smaller than the original frame size, then I can see the greyed-out extra image around the edges. If I turn off the grading view, then the image appears, but of course is impossible to manipulate!

Any ideas?

Running RedCINE on Win XP SP2, P4 2.6 Ghz (single proc), 3GB RAM, NVidia Quadro FX1100 video card...

Any help much appreciated - I'd love to get starting playing with some .R3D files!

when you say turn off the grading view what do you mean exactly ?

I had the same problem with the black frame and only the greyed out outside showing. If you hit the colour switch on the top margin the image appears - is that what you mean by 'turn off the grading view' ?

I too cannot get any of the grading controls to do anything to the image

If press 'H' you'll get a list of current hotkeys (nice feature, btw!), one of which is "grading on/off" - can't remember the key off the top of my head, but toggling that gives you black frame or un-graded image...

Maybe the colour switch is performing the same functionality?

Sorry to hear you're having the same issue - let's hope we get it sorted soon!

Logfile, logfile, logfile.

That card is about 3.5 years old, and is AGP. Three years is a lifetime in the graphics card world. Chances are very good it doesn't support the OGL extensions needed for color correction. And anything on AGP will be just dog-a** slow.

Hmmm... That's not great news.

I'll be buying a new machine (this one is my one at home), so it's not the end of the world, but it would be nice to get to grips with RC as early as possible...

No logfile created, I'm afraid - first place I looked. Perhaps logfiles are only created when you attempt to render?

No... a logfile is created as soon as you launch REDCINE. Are you looking the right place?

Yup, looked there - no joy. Interesting...

I'll re-install and relaunch, maybe something came a cropper on that installation.

OK, generated a logfile this time.

Looks like it is an OGL issue, there's a number of OGL-based error messages, like:
"Shader: 1D LUT texture(1) failed..: OpenGL Error - Invalid enumerant"
and:
"00:59:29.95 WARN : Pre TX define 1: OpenGL Error - Invalid operation
00:59:30.36 ERROR: GL Render Pass (1): 'Invalid operation'
00:59:52.64 WARN : Pre TX define 1: OpenGL Error - Invalid operation
# : Repeated 3 times"

So no joy on this system, I take it?

No joy - correct. Could you please send me the logfile to my personal e-mail - lucas at assimilateinc dot com?

Tx,

Lucas

No problem - since last posting I've opened up RedCINE twice more and playe around with it to see if the re-install helped (with no luck, of course!) - do you want all three logfiles?

Cheers,
Dom.
