  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Sending Pal 720p 25fps DVD to the US will it play.

You might try using Sorenson Squeeze and downconverting to Standard Def NTSC letterbox in 480i, 30fps (29.97), then burning a DVD.

Also, exporting a Quicktime or AVI file might save you some time and be more convenient if the client just would like to see the video... then they could play the original HD version on a computer screen. (which you could send to them online).

You also may have options for creating an HD-DVD or BlueRay DVD and remaining in HD, but of course this requires $$ hardware and media on the burning and playback sides.

Basically there are three ways to go.

1. slow down the whole song 4% and go from 25p to 24p (well, technically 23.976p). Considering the client, not a good idea!

2. keep song the correct length and blend between frames. Use something like After Effects and output interlaced to 60i.

3. re-edit a bit. Keep song the correct length, bring in your 25p shots as 24p. Your picture is actually 4% too fast, but you can compensate for that by re-synching at each cut point. It helps if you have the #2 render (song at correct length with blending) as a reference.

Perhaps combine #2 and #3 - use mostly your blended-frame file but cut in little bits of pure 25p picture where the blending looks horrible.

I edited it in Vegas 720p 25fps and was wondeing whats the best way to export it to play on US DVD Players.
Is there an easy way to transfer 720p 25fps to NTSC 720p 24fps.

No DVD player can play 720p unless it's one of those multi-format things that plays WMVHD or DivX. So, you need to drop it down to 480i or 480p as well as any frame rate conversion.

when you render do it at NTSC 29.97 widescreen .... it will then take convert audio and picture for US NTSC 29.97 ...
