  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

***free Gear To Help You Shoot Red***

man you make me wish i was back in LA, you're commitment to cinema and those around you who feel the same is inspiring. I thought that I might share this with every one it has inspired me and helps me to persevere.

Hi everyone.
I don't know Ketch apart from reading his posts on the forum here, but I think it's pretty amazing considering what he's been through, that he would even make an offer like this. What he's been thru would have most people withdrawing from the world, yet here he is, actively engaging it.

I contacted him in private last week to see if he could help me out with a shoot I'm doing in LA next week. I'm very pleased to say that he's going to be helping me out with a small light package, from the 16th thru the 23rd.
Now, I would have done the shoot regardless, but the fact that Ketch is willing to help out with gear now means that my shoot is going to look alot better, and my potential for success with it just went up 100%.

I just think it's pretty amazing.

it was nice talking to you early this morning, I thank you for your kind words and again those of my other REDUSER fellows, truly ambled by it.

I'm very pleased to know that I can be of help in making your shoot a better one, I wish you the very best for this project, I like your idea and knowing your previous project, I think will no doubt, this one be as good and better.

In this I also hope others are inspired to follow my example and help each other any time this is possible, even when to do so we have to go the extra mile.

At the end the reward of seen the helped ones happiness should repay the trouble 10 times over!

The more I get turn down when asking for help, the more I want to help others!

The more I get walls put in front of me, the more I want to help others take them down!

In this difficult times I'm getting frustrated as I try with all my heart to get my project made, and I get no help, the circle it is strong and hard to brake, but I know I will brake it!

For now my enjoyment comes from doing little things like this, it gives me great pleasure to help others as it helps me stay positive.

thanks much for your words, stay assure that I will take care, also this gear goes to set with me and my best friend, both because I can not do it alone and for safe kipping of the gear, but I must admit it also a lot to do with me wanting to be out there in the action first hand instead of staying home.

Working from home has its advantages but also it can get claustrofobic.(is this a word?)

I feel better knowing you are staying safe while staying positive. :biggrin: In the action is the place to be!

It's spelt claustrophobic, but perfect phonetic spelling and the right word!

Hi Kosmos3D,

I would love nothing more, and I do have a little clip for my web intro that can only be shot with RED in 4K as it is very visual and color vivid, were a bed of rose petals become a women and then dissolve to petals again, so I will pick you up on your offer as soon as you can and I will be talking to my CGI guy.

On the same page please do take advantage at any time of my gear and my time if you need to shoot something your self, it will be my pleasure to help you as well.

I was set on letting only RED owners use my gear, for both be directly of help to them and to gain on field experience with the RED, but I'm very happy I made the decision to lend you the gear, you are a terrific person and it was a pleasure meeting you as well, hope to visit you in Canada shortly.

Hello ,

My name is Juan Elgueta, im writing from Chile and i have a small production company. I'm looking to buy a red camera, but first or meanwhile, due to my location in the world, i would like to have the oportunity to participate only as a viewer or assistant in some shootings with the red so i can get and understanding and know how of the camera and it's processes. Also at a level of post production, downloading material etc. I have work with digital cameras and film cameras for the last 10 years. I can work almost in every field of the business, and i'm willing to do it for free just to have teh chance to get close to a red camera before I buy it or menawhile i wait it's delivery.
I know this has nothing to do with your statement but I don't have many choices and the online course doesn't convince me. If you can help me, i would really apreciate and who knows maybe later, I could be a helping hand for you. I studdy film in new york and my english is very good.
