Hi,

I have searched in the forum and I haven't seen any info about this, sorry if this has been already discussed.

What about a RED training, both user/operator/DoP and engineering for servicing the camera. I think there's an idea of having a DVD training, but what about a tour of workshops or maybe going to Red or any film academy, or SantaFe workshops... Whatever. I think extensive training is a must with such a new camera.

RED needs to have talented people, otherwise people would think that the camera is crap when it is the operator that is a crap for not knowing how to use the camera.

Also engineering and servicing is needed, at least for us outside the US. Shiping the camera for repairing will be expensive (and time consuming).

I'm sure this'll come as and when there are 'Experts' who have a clue. At the moment no one can honestly say they have enough expertise.

What could be useful is a bootcamp of RedUsers early January so that early res holders can demonstrate what they have learned and show it to the public. It might also be a useful way for demonstrating to producers etc the benefits of Red.

Infact I might even arrange something like this in the UK at some point.

EDIT: This is taking into account that delivery schedules are as currently listed.

Here's my vote for a customer pick-up and training day at Red when the cameras are ready.

Good shooting and best regards,

Leo

guys.. the red office is not like the oakley building.. its a smaller office in a small business center. an influx of eager recipients might be a bit Overkill.
Im all for picking up the camera.. but I think a demo and lesson would be a bit too much to ask for. They dont want to do that 1200 + times.
The bootcamp will come!
