Hi guys,
I've read a lot of threads about the gamma shifting in FCP( rendered materials from Color, when importing back to FCP, is shifted in Gamma, saturation).
well this happened to me, in whatever i tried (QT pro-res), (DPX using glue tools), but finally I have managed to come over this, so this is my workflow:
Render DPX frames sequences
Import the DPX to shake.
export QT using animation codec,
in FCP Right click the final shake result (QT animation)
select items properties and change the way the alpha is behaving, from (straight) to (Ignore), Tada.
FCP now don't assume any thing about your Video's Gamma and just put it the way it's.
I think that the Apple guys must work on selecting Gamma setting and Color LUTS, handling DPX natively and the hidden 8 bit conversion of the rendered settings, and a lot of bugs in their FCP, because it's good and have a very good future.
color too must be upgrade to 4k, because 2009 is the 9k's year.
and happy editing, film making everyone, happy new year to all of you.
if you have any question don't hesitate to PM me, and I'll reply ASAP.
