  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any UK people on here getting a RED?

Hi Folks

Bit slow off the mark, however we plan to order a Red when registration re-opens on the 21st of January...looks like this will be Red number 2 in "Bonnie" Scotland".

We specialise in golf production so I'm really looking forward to shooting Scotland's greatest courses in 4K! We've had to "make do" with HDCAM until now.....

Best wishes

Scott

Placed reservation this morning for Red One, and Red Zoom, Coming all the way to sunny Brighton!

#68 here in London.

I use FinalTouch for my grading. We have a feature film to shoot with the RED with we get it.

Fun times again...

I'm a Red reservationista based just outside of London, I mostly work on my HDW-750 shooting documentaries (http://www.crossingthelinefilm.com Sundance 2007 official selection)

Also have MK-V Nexus Steadicam available if anyone needs an operator with kit.

Blimey - I'm really slow of the mark with this one - but anyway RED# 1319 will be near High Wycombe, so it may come in handy for someone. I haven't really thought about rental yet except - how can you be sure you'll get your camera back - or back in the same condition ??

Best regards, Phil

Plenty of us here, it would seem!

Hi Sam, that's interesting - I'm based in Brighton too, and it could be useful to have a second head about for both of us, if/when needed...

What are you planning on doing with your Red? Are you planning on rental, if we need a second unit in the future?

If you're interested, fancy meeting up for a beer and a chat sometime and seeing if we can help each other out??

Hi Chaps,

Anyone planning on going to NAB? It looks like I'm Billy no mates at the moment.

I've booked myself in The Orleans ($70/night) - they run shuttles close to the convention centre.

Let me know if you want to meet up while you are out there.

All the best, Phil

Just too busy. I'm going to wait for IBC.

Not sure I can wait that long to see a RED camera. I'm going to be in SFO the week before on some other biz anyway, so it's easy for me to piggy back the NAB visit.

I'll certainly post any impressions I'm able to remember when I get back.

Cheers, Phil

Would love to join you Phil, but like others I simply don't have much time and I'm saving every penny for accessories! And Si I live in the Peak District just south of Manchester so if you ever need a hand setting anything up send me a PM and I'll see if I can help out.

Best of luck Si. I hope the transition goes well. I have only been up to Manchester a few times but loved the shepherds pie, mushy peas, chips and gravy from the chippy at the station. We don't have that particular combination down Sarf.

Hi Paul, Let me know if there is anything you want specific info on and I'll ask the RED team for you.

Otherwise I'll just bring back some impressions of my time on the RED stand.

All the best, Phil

Thanks alot Phil, will do. Make sure you check out Curt's stuff from ViewFactor Studios when you are over there too, dunno what stand they're on (They have a motorised gear system/followfocus gizmo - I'm slightly merry and can't remember the exact term! :)). Would love to be there.

Cheers, Paul
