  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why 6K over 4K or 8K or 12K ect?

I have never felt the benefits of such a high resolution until this camera.
I feel comfortable and love 2K to be quite honest.
the benefits between 4K over 2K is only slight in my experience.
The render times, space taken by hard drives the slowdown of everything the necessity of much bigger stronger faster everything is a big jump.

How ever I will still shoot 4K... Why? because I can.
I mean 90% of the things ive done are only going to TV... SD 720x486 or DVD or youtube or web for that matter.
1 Feature shot in Mexico will for sure go back to FILM so there's my true usage of 4K.

So my question is this when Epic comes out and when REDONE does 4.5K
what are the real benefits of 6,8,12 or whatever K they come out with?

I always do digital push ins in 4K and that's cool but if you go to far it does not pixelate it shows that the focus was not sharp.

I see the EPIC is going to require BAD ASS ACs.
Thats where my money will be.
Because a so/so AC wont have the perfect sharp focus and on these LCDs or EVFs you cant totally tell.
But on the 30 cinema displays zooming in digitally a few hundred percent because the director wants it.
YOU see the quality in a sharp focus verses a guy who eye balled.
