So, just thinking out loud here:
From what i remember from the original design announcement of the Red One there originally was going to be a port on the camera that would allow you to record the uncompressed image strait off of the chip. But that idea was scrapped before the first units started shipping. (I could be wrong on this.)
With the announcement of the A-Cam Dll, and the ability to record uncompressed 12 bit raw files I wonder if this option will ever be re-introduced? (From what I remember it was going to be a module that you added onto the camera- the same place that the CF read is currently.) I would LOVE that ability, and pay for that option!!!
Also, with Ikonoskop announcing that they will be providing an 80GB SSD card that can record at 240MB while being priced at P2 prices, I wonder if that will have any bearing on the development of the Red Ram? (That is SSD too correct? But only 64GB) $1500 for 80GB SSD fits within my budget, as apposed to the $4500 for the 64GB Red Ram. While I'd prefer to shoot to SSD, at this point getting a couple Red Raids is what I'll have to settle for.
Either way, I am very impressed with the Red One, and I look forward to getting my camera in November. Anyway, here is to hoping....
