I was wondering if anyone saw the new Da Vinci R100 in action at IBC. I was about to buy Scratch but now this thing comes out. What i have read so far is that it starts at 150k and its upgradeable{????}.
So my question is....
What do you get for 150k and how does that compare to Scratch Finishing for 110k which is just the Box and complete software.
thanks in advance.

110K for SCRATCH? Yeah... you could get to that if everything (including hardware) was at list price, you put all 4 Tangent panels on it, about 36TB of storage, 30" display, etc.

But just the box and SCRATCH - no way. I've written a LOT of SCRATCH quotes, and have never written a quote that high for just SCRATCH + hardware/storage.

EDIT: This is actually not true. I've written quotes for some big-ass storage systems where the storage costs alone are more than the SCRATCH license... You can spend 5K or 500K on storage.

Thats the exact number that I got from Boxx, just the box, software, and on site training, no control surface or monitor,. Its 70k for the software license and then 35k for the hardware which hurts the most because I know that its gonna be worth 400 bucks in a year or 2. Silverado's quote was around 140k. But then on there site they advertise a package with everything for 141k. If you know anyone that can build me a rig for less I would love to meet him. Did you check out the R100?
