I know this has ben covered before but the info I found was about a year old. I am looking for suggestions for V mount batteries. I need another half dozen batteries and am wondering if there are better alternatives to the RedBrick, I have had good luck with the Bricks but not with the chargers (mine are a bit buggy) plus I am interested in a more "travel friendly" charger. Any input would be appreciated.

If you want the best, PagLink. If you want the best bang for your buck its Swit (different than Switronix). I've used both for years and love them equally for different reasons. PagLink is super versatile and clever, while Swit makes a no nonsense battery that lasts for 3 hours on Epic for $460. You already have a link to PagLink, so here is a link to Swit. Good Luck!

Or take a look at bebob:

http://www.bebob.de/Batteries-and-chargers/Lithium-Manganese/Batteries/

These are lithium manganese type batteries which supply a very high current. Great build, great service. That´s what they write about them:

Virtually unbreakable +++ Re-cellable +++ Twist-D-Tap
The bebob batteries are designed to survive a fall of 1.5m. Nevertheless, if one should crack, the modular concept allows any mechanical part to be replaced.
Re-cellable: the bebob batteries aren't disposables but durable equipment. When the capacitiy has become insufficient after years of use, batteries can be re-celled easily in our factory for about half the price of a new one.
Twist-D-Tap: Only bebob batteries offer the unique bebob Twist-D-Tap. This rainproof socket allows you to plug a D-Tap connector into the battery with your choice of cable trailing from the left or right.

2 years warranty on mechanical parts and electronic control
2 years warranty on 80% capacity of cells

Cheers, Ulf

I'll back PAG. Not only do their batteries kick ass, their travel charger is so small and you can stack charge your batteries. Furthermore, their customer support is outstanding. I received some super early versions of the PAG pl96e batteries which didn't play too well with RED, so PAG sent me upgrade parts as well as a firmware updater to get the % flowing through to camera.

And just to be clear, all these changes now ship out with new batteries. They're the best.

Mark,

While I WAS a huge supporter of PagLinks in the beginning, I can't say that any longer. It's true that they can stack up to 16 on a single charger and charge ALL of them in 14 hours... That's very cool, indeed. However, as a shooter, I've found myself needing more batteries than ever before in my career! Power hungry cameras and a plethora of accessories, mandate that we all need somewhere in the vicinity of about 12-16 batteries to make it through a demanding day of powering cameras, LED lights, monitors, scopes, tablets, RedMotes, optional recorders, wireless audio gear, wireless video gear, servo motors, etc. The PAGs are tremendously expensive for a 96 watt hour battery! Man, I love what they can do, I'm just not willing to pay those prices!

I recently found this company after some other Red Users suggested I try them! http://www.kerma.biz/Products/Batteries/DS-220S.html These guys sell 220 watt hour batteries for $370 list, and if you buy them direct you can get them for about 10% off, so $333! Read that again! Less than $350 for 220 watt hours! WOW! That's incredible. Their batteries will charge V-mounts on any charger. They do have a quad simultaneous charger in the neighborhood of $350. I've just received my first four batteries and couldn't be happier! I got 2 of the 220s for my Epic/F-800 and I got two 95s for my LED lights! Those are terrifically priced too! (about $150!) (I bought Gold Mounts, instead of V mounts and a 4 position charger).

I don't know if they'd appreciate my saying, so I'll refrain from calling them out, but some well known Red Users turned me onto these, as they've been using them for years. I've also started to see these pop up at a local rental house too! I can buy three batteries for the same price as a single 160 watt hour battery of the brand I've used for a couple of decades. That is really helpful on the bank account... 220 watt hour batteries last quite a long time with my Epic too.

Just something to check out.

Fantastic info. Very helpful.

Just ordered some Dyna cores, pretty good bang for the buck. I still have a couple PAG link batteries on the way as well. I love the mini travel charger and the ability to charge multiple batteries overnight in my hotel room.

GlobalMedia Pros. LOVE THEM!
Second that. Been using globalmediapros for years now, batteries and chargers, and never had an issue with them. The price is hard to beat, too, and the integrated D-Tap saved my ass a load of times. They have special "Red compatible" batteries too, that display the percentage.

I'm lookin at switching from using Redvolts to V-lock batteries. What would be the most cost-effective battery that is able to display percentage on Scarlet/Epic? The GlobalMediaPro Red-versions?
