  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

new Sony 4K

Yes, the price is so close to the pro version, it is only sensible to go to the pro version, unless you are a consumer, then the price gets closer to the FS700 (but does it do cheap 4k recording yet) so you might as well just buy what you need. As you see it creeps up on the Scarlet, but begs the question should the Scarket be cheaper, all the Sony models should be.

Each one should have thousands shaved off I think.

I didn't say it would be easy, just easier than pulling focus by eye using the monitor, digital rev shoots with dslr run and gun so its not impossible and they dont even have peaking.

DigitalRevTV...? Got to say, the quality of those videos arent really the best... awesome content though.

I plan to get the pro version. A direct shot to shot compare against my Epic, of same scene will follow.

That depends on what you compare them with, I think their quality level is pretty good and generally speaking is in focus, you see refocusing in shots but thats what you have to accept from a "run and gun" shoot.

They look very much like theyve been shot on a DSLR with a standard photolens. That means among other things that zooming and iris dialing seems very unsmooth and unprofessional as opposed to if they would have used a normal videocamera. Such as the Sony mentioned in this thread for example...

Anyone know if the z100 bitrate is adjustable to different rates? No user manual online yet as far as I can see.
