  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Upgrade from 10.5.8. . . will Premiere Pro CS5.5 still work?

Hi all. . .

. . . big time concerns here.

I am currently using CS5.5 and OS 10.5.8. It works perfectly.

Now, to use a new piece of software (iZotope RX-3), I need to upgrade to OS 10.6 or later.

If I upgrade for the iZotope, will I STILL be able to use my CS5.5 without a hitch?

I'm VERY wary of any changes this deep into our film.

Specifics:

2008 Mac Pro: 2x 3.2 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT

Am I likely to encounter any problems?

If I do upgrade to 10.6, and if I have any problems, can I go back to 10.5.8 or not?

Thanks much.

Stephen

Alas. . .

. . . I just may be toast.

Come on Adobe, chime in here! Will I encounter any problems moving from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 using my CS5.5?

Help a guy out here.

:-(

You will not have any problems moving to 10.6 or even 10.7 I've had both of those OS versions running with 5.5. I can't speak to 10.8, as I've not had to revive 5.5 for anything since installing it.

And yes, you can go backward. But you may not be able to do a time machine-style transfer of your user data, etc. I don't think the migration assistant goes backward. So be sure you make and keep a clone of your OS drive before you start. That way, going back to where you started is always possible.

Thanks, Mr. Fuller, I really appreciate it.
