  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

my intention were always clear thats why i have delivered lenses in good faith on 29/06/2013 without asking balance payment. it was trust as you are here for long time. but it proved wrong.
when i ask for payment, you confirmed that you hold some payment for repair and pay balance on 31/08/2013. also taken bank details. but you didnt pay yet.
now you threating me by informing my clients not to use my equipments etc, I didnt mention a single wrong word about you. i just want to be here because your delay so that everyone must know how the deal was going. and i will keep updating until i receive payment. also i will upload our emails and/or watsapp conversation, if require.
 
Mahadev, give it a rest. You are misusing this forum. Whatever conflicts you may have with this seller, whether legitimate or not, are private and belong in private conversations between the two of you.
 
I will probably get a lot of flack for this post, but there is something totally WRONG about this sale thread. The process is completely and undoubtedly unfair for the reduser members who are interested in this item.

For this very reason, in the past, Reduser moderators acted strongly to make sure this kind of sale set-up is not allowed on this forum (I can provide examples). I have to wonder why, in this instance, they remain silent - whereas they acted promptly when it was needed in the past.

Robert is simply e-mailing different Reduser members, telling them what the current "Best Offer" is (which apparently has increased repeatedly to staggering heights). When asked to provide the information on who exactly is offering the best current price, he refuses to do so. For all we know, Robert might be trying to increase the price artificially with no accountability whatsoever - he can simply e-mail higher and higher fake prices to all interested parties and no one can verify if that is the truth or not.

I am not accusing Robert of anything, but this type of sale used to be forbidden on Reduser, and for a good reason. Normally, you ask for a price, and sell it to whoever meets that price. If you want an auction instead, go to eBay where the process is transparent.

You can't have a "hidden" auction in Reduser and there used to be rules in place to prevent it from happening.

I am happy to take the flack - but I am simply asking the Reduser community - is this type of sale fair for our members here?

I feel the same way, I made an early offer and now have not heard back as to what number he really wants or hopes to receive. As an interested buyer, this process sucks.
 
Lots of people post kit for sale as "make an offer". If it's the rules not to do that then of coarse i am happy to take the listing off, i appreciate your comments. It's not as if i am the only person who has kit for sale for offers. I have replied to you Christopher, i thought i sent the serial number, maybe i sent that to someone else by accident last night?. Mike i am surprised you're interested in the lens ( genuinely ) after your initial posts, but mike consider that you were asking for other peoples contact details and i wasn't happy to do that, i think that is the best thing to do. However i really don't want to upset the apple cart here, if it's the rules then i will remove the lens as best offers and place a selling price. Last time i listed a selling price on a lens ( My K35 set ) i also got another slating from someone complaining about the price!!..so it seems like a no win situation. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. In the interests of forum harmony i will take off the best offers and advertise a selling price.
 
I think it is ok to advertise as "Best Offer". Bob is getting too much heat here, IMHO.

No I didn't get the detail number (first two digits are enough) yet... I did write you back three times after your 1 email.

So what IS the price you are selling this for?
 
I have changed the auction, its there for the world to see. Reduser is not becoming a pleasant place to be. I think after this i'm stepping away.

After all the grief i've had about this sale, i'm happy to say i moved on and sold the lens. Even though i had been offered more from some of you guys in the end i sold it because all i could foresee with all the heat i have had here was... even more grief. The lens was inspected today and paid for, simple. It is a great lens and i am sorry that some of you did not get a chance to buy it, but i just got fed up with all the controversy.
