I was wondering if anyone knew of a good solution for a donut for the Canon 24-70. It moves a good 3-4 inches when zooming. I've been disappointed with everything I've tried... redrock, zacuto.....
I'm using an Obox, and was considering testing the movcam donut, but figured I'd see if any of you geniuses had an even better idea first .

I also have the OBox and the 24-70.

My solution is to use the shade that comes with the 24-70. And one of the bigger rings, from o-connor. (there are 3 sizes, of which I mostly use the smallest 80mm for all the regular Canons). I just taped one layer of gaffa around the shade, to thicken it a bit, and the slided the ring on the shade. Then the shade just has this ring on all the time, and when I use the 24-70, I just screw the ring with the shade attaced to the obox. Works great, free movement, filters and all.

I made my own nun's knickers from apholstery grade velvet and a couple elastic drawstrings. I don't sew for shit, but it wasn't too terribly difficult.

That is a great idea, unfortunately it doesn't work on the Ver 2.
The lens hood attaches to the telescoping section of the lens
