When I edit footage from our Scarlet-X Camera via Adobe PPCS5.5 in our Windows7 PC, I always have to adjust saturation and contrast in the "Source settings".

Is there a way to set those parameters WITHIN the sub-menu of the Scarlet Camera itself?

I realize it is only metadata, but it would save me a lot of time if I could view the footage right out of the camera with the saturation and contrast already adjusted close to what I'd want in the finished edited scenes.

If this is possible, please let me know EXACTLY how to do it.

Thanks for your time.

Two ways. The first is to go into the LOOKS section under the SETTINGS menu and simply adjust the settings you want. This will stay until you change it.
The other is to create a look using Redcine-X and then load those settings into the camera.

Thanks Bob, but there is NO way, that I can find, to adjust saturation and contrast "within" the Scarlet camera menu. It does have changeable Look settings, but not the two I want.

So, I guess I will have to go the "create a look" route via RedCineX.

George, page 119 of the Scarlet Ops Manual. Settings>Look>Color>Saturation/Contrast

It's all there George. Same controls as available through Redcine. If all you want to adjust is contrast and saturation go to:

SETTINGS > LOOK > COLOR > (Saturation, Contrast)

Thanks Bob & Jeff.

I got it now. I was in Color/Gamma not just Color.

Once you know where to look and what you're doing, it's simple of course.

I wish this same thing was possible with our Red-One's, but unfortunately, it is not. I've tried several times, but nothing works. K-sa-ra!! ;)

Thanks again for your help.

I've shot some black and white stuff where I set it on set so I have a better idea of what I'm getting for B&W finish.

When you bring it to your suite, it is still in B&W, but you can bump the saturation back up.

Very helpful.
