Hi,

I am selling my set of lomo spherical standard speed primes.

I got these as new old stock from a Kinor 35-H package. I then sent them to Duclos lenses to be completely serviced. Iris and focus are both perfectly smooth.

They have 32 pitch gears and stainless steel PL mounts. Irises are perfectly round. Lenses have front and rear caps. All front diameters are the same. They fit the 87mm ring on my MB-19. All have threads for screw on filters.

18mm T3.2 made in 1991
22mm T2.3 made in 1991
28mm T2.2 made in 1990
35mm T2.2 made in 1991
50mm T2.2 made in 1990
100mm T3.1 made in 1989

These are great lenses, I just have too many ;-) Asking $10k which is around $1600 each, which is a solid deal. I will provide specific pictures on request from serious buyers, and even put up some sample images from them if you are actually interested in buying them. I'm shooting all this week so If I don't get back to you, right away that's why.

Cheers,

Nick

Hello Nick,

I have exactly a set like yours, but i have 75 instead of 100.
I agree they are great lenses, and it took me a lot of time to put the set together.

I strongly recommend 1989-1991 Lomos, they have a great soul!

I also like the yellow ring your lenses got (what it is for? It would be very useful for me to know it, thanks in advance!)

Great lenses, who will buy them will be happy!

Cheers

Jean

The yellow ring is just Formaline tape with feet measurements since they come in Metric ;-) Thanks for the endorsement. I'm sad to see them go.

That's why i never saw it, i'm in Italy, so metric is good for me. :-)

Thank you, have a great sale!

I can't find anything online in HD, but if you are interested in buying them I could put something up on vimeo.

This is a beautiful set and an absolute bargain. I have 5 LOMO lenses myself. LOMOs made between 1989 and 1991 are the most sought after. To find a quality set like this is rare.

Hi,
Got several questions about splitting the set. Not interested in that. I'll check if they cover 5k tomorrow at work.

Nick

Got home from work, stuffed the lenses on an epic. 18mm and 22mm vignette slightly in the corners in 5K. They are both fine in 5K HD, and 5K WS.

Nick

That's good news that the 18 and 22 are usable at 5k. Will you no longer own any Lomo sphericals after you sell this set?! I'm loving the 25-80 you encouraged me to get.

You can do an online search for the movie "The Level" (2009). Here's the imdb link. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1397506/
It was shot with 2 perf (Techniscope) Kinor 35H's. The negative (5279) was pushed to highten the grain structure.
"Rockaway" (2007) was also shot with Lomos, again in 2 perf. http://pro.imdb.com/title/tt0796355/ This one is avail on Netflix via DVD.

I own these lenses (both the speeds and standards, 18mm- 150mm) and they work very nicely with digital. I had them converted to PL and used them on a feature and on PBS shoots. I cannot show links, as these projects have not yet been released.

The Lomos I've owned have a very slight magenta cast at times. This can of course be timed out without too much difficulty. They are very sharp, yet the highlights roll off in a pleasing way. You can say they have a hint of vintage glass yet are easier to work with as the barrels are fairly modern. (ie: old Cooke Speed Panchros that have not been rehoused were never designed to take a focus ring.) Aesthetically I much prefer the look of Lomos over Red Pro Primes, Zeiss CP's, etc. with digital acquisition.

The catch with Lomos is that mechanically they are not the best made lenses. And of course they were in OCT-19. Nick's set are in PL and have been gone over by Duclos, which is necessary and critical before pressing them into service. It is also best to cherry pick the best lenses from several older sets. You can send Lomos to St. Petersburg for conversion, but this will realistically take months (personal experience.)

In other words, Nick's set of Lomos are more of a bargain than meets the posting.

Thanks for that. A side note, the limos in this vintage and housing it's just 4 machine screws to Change the mount. I still have the oct-19 mounts somewhere if anyone wants those as well, i'll try to fog tiek up.
Nick

As I said, they cover 5k hd and 5k widescreen. The wides will vignette after that.
