  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We're getting a new camera called Epic Dragon and maybe the RED store will also be stocking Ted Schilowitz action figures for the kids of REDUser members. Just in time for the holiday shopping season.
 
While I would never claim to know what Red is thinking, it is my view that this very idea is the antithesis to what they're trying to create. Remember, they ditched the 3K fixed-lens Scarlet because it wasn't good/adaptable/versatile enough. They aren't trying to make cameras for everyone. They are trying to improve cameras for cinema-type projects.
 
Epic Dragon might be shipping in quantity in November. I see no chance of a another product line magically appearing between now and next year. The RED projector is dead in the water due to the focus on Dragon. I think RED said even the Scarlet Dragon wouldn't be a priority until next year once Epic D gets straightened out. REDRay/Odemax are still in flux. Adding one more product would be a yet another product they wouldn't have time to work on.
 
So, they didn't ship Dragon early, I suppose the Dragon Epic is the new camera.
