Purchased the SIDE HANDLE used.
The battery door is not closing as smoothly as it used too.
It was sent in for that same problem years before I purchased.
Was there a fix that a user can just try or do I have to send this one in?

Bump.

I would like to know as well. The Red tab on the top is not holding the battery in place anymore, so I have to hold the battery in its place as I shot the battery door. I think there was a trick to pull that red tab out and place it back in and it worked fine, but I am afraid to yank on it too much.

Contact your rep and you should be able to get a replacement red tab for the battery.

Thanks Jon, is that the culprit in most cases?

What bugs me it that its not consistent.

Somedays the thing will snap in nicely then when Im in a tight spot it doesn't.

Its like it knows that im sweating it :P

I remember a year ago they added a metal tab to go with the red tab to help enforce it from use. And did a mass free upgrade for everyone. Odds are if the battery does not stay, you have the old red tab without the metal to enforce it.
