  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon and IR contamination.

+1

Really important. Especially with no penalty loss at different ISOs.

If I can only use regular ND.3, ND.6, ND.9 and maybe ND1.2 filters without a Hot Mirror filter, that would be ideal...
I'm sick of all those hot mirror/ir cut combinations... I want a simpler approach, as we used to do when shooting film.

GIven that you shoot at lower ISOs you will not be using as much ND, and therefore less IR pollution.

Yes, ideally, a "normal" 3., .6 and .9 ND set would suffice, given the preliminary info about Dragon. You still want to affect depth of field with ND filters, besides simple exposure - so you need a complete set nevertheless.

But if IR protection is not needed all the way up and including ND1.2 let's say, that would be absolutely great.

But this is logically impossible - either ISO is baked in via gain/limiting - or you have a fixed sensor range - so there will still be "better " ISOs than others in terms of latitude, and we will still need some kind fo NDs to shoot at those optimal ISOs. This is plain logic, regardless of tech - because I can combine many ISOs in a single frame in post with power windows - so the sensor latitude is still fixed if RedCode is still 100% RAW.
