  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Stealing DP Credits - AGAIN! Someone DO Something!

I doubt his being outed in the DP community has anything to do with his name changes. He is probably doing that when consumer pressure starts catching up with him. Got to move on for the next sucker.

The DP's he is stealing from could always follow him, registering their own domains as he changes his name; alexsaskiisafraud.com, alexsaskisucks.com... Something like that. Then folks who google him will at least be able to see what is going on.

He's in the US, Los Angeles, according to his posts and all available information. Judging by his posts, he hasn't quite mastered the English language, though his websites look a bit too polished to be the work of someone who can't speak the English language well.
yes...non english speakers really can't write code....or design websites...

Just emailed the producer of the Free People film that he ripped off. They're a fairly big agency in NYC, hopefully they can go after this dude.

maybe we can go after who is hosting his website(s) for helping to distribute his fraudulent activities, then they can give us the credit card name and number that link to the account, along with the address? in this day and age people are quite trackable when they piss enough people off or break enough laws... sure customers deserve privacy, but not when he is using their hosting service to distribute copy righted material, correct?

so for now keep the pressure on guys who hes ripping off... get the production companies and clients involved and lets see if we can't threaten lawsuits on the web hosting service, thats probably a good way to trace the prick and actually be able to charge him legally then...thus preventing more fraud

or if hes really on RU, can we get the mods to give us his IP to give to the authorities? maybe charge him that way legally for the copyright issues?

No ISP in their right mind would ever give out any such info without a court order to do so. And even then, they would only release info to the appointed parties. Not to drag this off on a tangent, but I had a web hosting company shut down a hosting account of mine containing a few sites one time because a certain large company didn't like something I posted. The large corporate entity's lawyers sent an official sounding email and letter to this hosting provider, the provider panicked and shut me down thinking the big corporate guys would sue them. Well, they did get sued -- by me. And so did the corporate entity, who had no legal claim, they were strong-arming my web host, trying to shut down the competition (me). It was an ugly two days battle in court, which I won hands-down. I'll leave it at that.

And there is a big part of the problem. Right or wrong, as soon as a company makes a judgement call to invade the privacy of one of their customers due to some content, they are opening themselves up to liability and will ultimately lose customers knowing that their info may not be held in confidentiality, if a bunch of squeaky wheels complain about something they post.

The administration of this site, not the moderators, can share info if there is due process in place which requests it. Beyond that, don't expect anything.

That said, I'm not trying to protect this cockbag thief of other peoples' content. But I am going to say that I'm amazed he's not sitting in jail waiting for payment of $250K for each and every stolen work on his site. ...or dead in a gutter somewhere. ..or his site(s) not hacked and turned to porn sites. or...

For any of you who have stuff ripped and placed on this guy's site, don't be a victim. Do something about it. I can and will only advocate legal action here. If he's in the USA, that makes it pretty easy to make the law work for you.

If you are producing content and posting it where others can view it, and potentially STEAL IT, and you don't have a good IP lawyer in place to help in situations like these, then you have already goofed.

That is a thought... alexsaskisucksballs.com is another. ;-) Put up your own website and make your case. (Get a pit bull litigator on it too, naturally)

Several years ago there was a pool company in MA that was not doing right by their customers. Some of them took out a domain (poolsthatsuck.com), created a website and rented billboards promoting the website in the community where they did work. Their business fell off fairly rapidly. It seemed pretty effective.

Seriously, I would take care to stick with the facts and steer clear of defamation but I would do something to make it worth his while to stop.

I emailed a couple of relevant ( and pretty f'n big) production Co's. Their "Legal council has been notified". That might not amount to anything more than the removal of certain materials from the guy's site, or they might tear him a new one.

I've had somebody steal my work. Then I went to present that very work to an agency, and I was the one accused of stealing, because he was the son of a prestigious Quebec director, of long lines of prestigious French families important to the history of Quebec, so no one believed me. I then defended my position via on-set photos, showing me, in fact, directing the set. I got fired from my production company, because I made him and his family look bad and embarrassed an important Quebec cultural figure, which is just something you do not do here, no matter what.

WOW, what a story. I work in PROMO, and I've heard of similar stories in my biz too. Of producers coming in with promo reels with spots written and produced by the very people they are interviewing with. Happened to one of my mentors. He was interviewing a young hot shot, full of bravura, and his reel had at least a couple of spots my MENTOR had done himself. Except this kid had no idea he had stolen from the very person he was trying to get work from. My mentor never hired him (never told him of the theft either), but we all knew about it and it was a strong reminder of how SMALL our biz is, also. Which I'm sure applies to many of us. The circles we swim in eventually end up being pretty small, so stealing and and lying to try and get ahead becomes a non-starter. Eventually not only do you get caught, but everyone ends up knowing...and then you never work again.

Better to be honest, learn and make mistakes (there will be many), and eventually have a reel of your own. Feels so good to have your own reel anyway, what a shame to have to lie about it. Takes all the fun away!
