Car Lights to backlight

I purchased 3000k color temperature HID lights for my two cars. I'm going to try to use them to backlight scenes. Has anyone done something similar?

no i havent, but i think it would be a bitch to get some stands big enough to hold your cars......

I once made a mean and cheap lighting kit out of four rectangular compact automotive spotlights, some nice looking aluminium extrusion, a piece of bed iron drilled and tapped to common tripod threads riveted on as a base and some bits of 1/4 blue gel. It worked, sort of and each lamp had a limited range of individual adjustment. It would flatten a car battery pretty quick. I must have got something right because somebody thugged it.
