Hey, so I have a Kino 4 Bank Select header cable that the connector has been damaged some and when someone tried to use it as such, they put it in the ballast wrong and blew one of the internal fuses. So while it could still be used as is, if you know how to put it in correctly, I rather fix the issue.
So looking at repair parts it looks like I need a PRT-XF4 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...RT_XF_4_Female_4_Bank_Connector_Assembly.html) However, I am trying to figure out from the description if the yellow molded strain relief on my cable is needed on the new part. It sounds like from the description that it's replaced by the repair kit sleeve, but was wondering if anyone has any experience replacing this part. It looks like from the kit picture that it's as simple as cutting off the old connector, soldering the wires and sticking it together. Is there more that I am missing?
Thanks for any help.
