Would be lovely to have a digital level on the LCD enabled in a future build. Not sure about it, but I guess this should be possible with the already implemented motion sensor?
Thanks for your input.
Marc

Great idea. Another nice update would be to implement a kind of Siri artificial mind so the Red camera could direct the actors all by itself, it would leave more time for the crew to do something more interesting like going fishing or watching the clouds passing by ;-)

That would be very useful. It's already on a lot of DSLRs and comes in quite handy.

That might be handy at times... good idea. If you are like me though, and use your iPhone for any number of production tasks, it is very easy to use it instead. AppBox Pro has a bubble level. There are others.

This would be nice. I agree.

Be nice... :-)

I'm nice, but not politically correct, I guess I won't be able to live everywhere ;-)

You are nice. You just keep presenting the you you've always presented here on Reduser. The next time I am Paris we should have a beer. I'm there a lot these days.

Or a gyro sensitive bubble level for steadicam work to watch the clouds passing by with the horizon leveled...its something you´ll find in every transvideo (french) cine monitor.

Mmm, you're right, Marc, clouds passing by is something which should be included in Red's next firmware ;-)

Joke apart, your idea is great and if I may suggest one, unless I'm mistaken, it would be also nice to add the possibility of darkening the picture of the LCD outside the frame guide.

David, you're more than welcome ;-)

Kristin, your first comment made my day today :-)
The darkening of the outside frame area has always been there, it has been one of our first custom settings.

Cheers, Ulf

Hi Ulf,

I didn't find the way to darken the outside frame in build 3.2, just a way to highlight the look around area. Is it a new feature of build 4 ?

Thanks !

Kristin

Hi Kristin,

It has already been in build 3, in build 4 you´ll find it at (Quite sure it was nearly the same before):
Settings_Display_Guides_General_Shading:relative to frame guide, color:black, opacity:75%.
At least these values have been working well for us using 4K resolution for cinema framing.
Feel free to choose a color that will fit better to your fishing ground ;-) Let me know if that works for you!

Cheers, Ulf

Mine too! And Kristin, thank you for bumping this thread. I´m really looking forward to read a answer from Jarred, Brent or somebody else from the Red team...oh, and >1000nit and AR coating on a Red 9" or 7" LCD would be great too.
Cheers,
Marc

Thanks Ulf and Marc ;-) We shall see if the big boys will answer your request... If yes, it should be called the "Marc Berger Option" in the menu settings, after all there is a Meizler Module ;-)

Kristin

Nice; but Meizler did develop the whole thing, and for sure I´m not the first one with this idea...But they could call it "Red bebble" and it´s red if it´s leveled and blue and green if not.
If the big boys will answer to this thread, I´m quite sure it will be a bit like this: "Hehe, wait for build 5, it´s already in it and much more". (Well, I wish to hear this kind of answer).
Have a grat day,
Marc
