  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Short term film insurance outside of the country for RED gear?

Does anyone know a good place I could get short term film insurance for my red gear? It'll only be a week and it'll be in Cuba but I would definitely like my equipment to be insured while I'm out of the country on this shoot. Thanks guys, really appreciate the help.

I've never had to make a claim against either policy (knock wood), so I can't speak to that, but getting them set up was quick and both are affordable.

He's supplied my insurance for years and is knowledgeable about restrictions and insurance. I was just in Haiti and Phillip made sure my insurance policy covered my EPIC. Also you'll need customs form 4457 to register your equipment with them so that you don't have any possibility to pay customs taxes when you return. Good luck and have a great shoot.
 
Athos Insurance is simply the BEST!!! They came through on a previous claim and the line of communication throughout the process was immediate. Even the adjuster was AMAZING and very friendly to work with! I wouldn't choose anyone else. PERIOD. Give Kat a call and tell her what you need. Make sure you ask her what all the optional riders are and what you would need to be 100% protected out of the country. Good luck!
