Hi Guys

I shot a short portfolio piece over the weekend for a friend of mine who's working as a promo model.
Thought this would be a great opportunity to test my rokinon cine primes under some fairly harsh conditions. It was a rainy day and the light in the warehouse quite bad, all these scenes were shot between F2.8 and wide open at F1.5.
The lenses used were the 24mm and the 35mm, all shot in 5K at 50fps 7:1.

This might be a little NSFW:

Nice piece Dominik, the soft grading at the end with the orange smoke is fantastic. I like the music also. Nice to watch you always!

thank you guys, I was quite worried about noise but after downsampling from 5K and with a bit of neat video magi it turned out ok. im still amazed at how much these lenses flare even from light bouncing off the wall. in the shot with the big bright graffiti in the background, the lenses actually flared from the light coming through the window and bouncing off the silver paint of the graffiti. Insane.

Nice work, Dominik. What is your overall impression of the two lenses? I've had my eye on the whole set of them, especially because of the price point. Curious how they look without the Vimeo compression, etc. straight from the camera.

Really nice colors, lighting, and what a stunning friend you have! seriously sensual piece full of beauty! Not to be overly critical but I found the hand held a little distracting. I think a gal like that needs nice steady camera moves, elegant tilts, pans, dutch tilts, steadicam what have you... She'd look just like a high end spot for something with smoother moves I think. Really loved it though overall... those lenses are quite amazing for their price to performance. I am going to pick up the rest of them, right now I only have their fish eye

Hey Arthur

I have the whole kit and love them, for the price they are absolutely spot on and great quality and build, have a look at this forum post: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?101347-Rokinon-Cine-Primes-on-EPIC-first-Impressions I linked to a few R3d files of test footage.

Thanks for the link, Dominik. Very informative read.

There's a seller on eBay offering the 14, 24, 35 and 85 for USD $1,800. Best price I've seen yet. Gonna have to scrape up some extra dough, I think.

Brian: absolutely...if the MOVI stabiliser wouldn't cost an arm and a leg I'd be so there...actually borrowing a steadicam over the weekend to practice so I can get away from the handheld look.

Arthur: that ebay shop is where I ordered my kit from, super fast delivery and no issues.
