i love the red plug in in fcpx....amazing....but WHY, WHY, WHY not all adjustments?
i would pay for that....
alchemy, curves!....is apple not allowing this to happen? or does red not want to step on toes? or something else? i don't think it would take away from redcine x and i don't see why apple would have a problem....

My guess is Alchemy is a part of the rendering engine in RCX and not just meta data settings of an R3D.

In other words closer to an FCP plug-in than something they can do on import.

Just guessing though...

Alchemy is a post processing effect and I don't think Red has released to developers how to integrate it?

I'm surprised tho that curves are not included. I don't use FCPX or anything, but this would seem like a basic feature that it should have.

i understand that alchemy isn't part of the plug in.....but curves, color,....that all has to be in meta data....i just hate that i can really only do very basic adjustments in redcineX that will actually transfer over/show up in fcpx....
i wonder if red is working on this? the plug in is still pretty new...

Given the effort RED has put in to create and maintain REDcine-X, it seems to me they will rely on folks to use that for extensive R3D manipulation. For them, putting it into FCP-X plug-in might be somewhat redundant.

to me a raw workflow is raw until final output....which means i can't use most of the adjustments redcineX has to offer.....and since red obviously knows best how to massage red raw files, i would prefer to use the red raw engine as much as possible....

since redcineX is free software i am not sure why red would not want to turn it into a plug in for fcpx or any other editor....
of course it means resources and extra work and i somehow have a feeling that everybody is pretty busy at red right now:)
