Hey Guys,

As many of you must have known, last night the moon was closest to the earth of this entire year. And of course everyone, everywhere took out their cmaeras and started snapping away.

Wanted to know if any of you guys took any.

I'll start by submitting my edit ;)

Thanks a lot, if that comment was for my clip. :o) I used a 1000mm lens (I bought it way back in time, a 500mm mirror and a 2x, pretty cheap stuff), and a very stable tripod (seriously). That is already everything.

While shooting, you can see the moon moving through the view-finder. Sorry, except for a curve and some sharpening, I haven't done anything else to the clip in RED cine X.

It was just pure fun.

Thanks Savva for starting the thread. Nice image.

Haha, YES! The great Neil Degrasse Tyson!

As for my set up, I used:

5D mk iii (shot RAW)
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS
2x extender
tripod

My entire county was covered in clouds last night, so I kept driving inland until I wouldn't have time to set up before the moon rose. I found a spot with a view of a ridge with clear sky over it... then more clouds came. This was the best I could manage.
