That’s a camera remote unit or ECU for Panasonic cameras compatible with HDX-900 and up to the latest Varicam or HPX-3100.
It’s being used for production and because in these remotes the cable with the connector always was having problems I made a custom fix which solved the problem once and for all. I removed the unused BNC connector to pass and solder inside the board a cable of 9 meters and used tie raps to fix it in the body of remote and since I had never had a problem again. Until the day I've done the fix I had bought and throw more than two cables from Pany… all broken in the connector…
That workaround is specially thought to allow the use of the original connector as well (if this is needed i.e. for longer lengths than 9m) since the new cable attached is just in parallel with the existing connector, in that way both, existing connector and cable are functional if needed.
The remote is fully functional and in good shape it only misses the iris knob.
