Hi all, last month I started a big edit project in PPcs6 with all kinds of medias : Gopro, 5d, red, epic, prores, dvcpro etc. Ever things was ok when the next day BOOOM.
" THE PROJECT COULD NOT BE LOADED, IT MAY BE DAMAGE OR CONTAIN OUTDATED ELEMENTS " :willy_nilly: even the backups was corrupted....
So, I leave 4 days of job in the trash, and started again in FCP7........ So yesterday with the new PPRO CC, I tried to open the files projects and the same problem.
Couldn't open any pice of file. What I did wrong ? How to trust in PP again ? I saw the same problem over the web, and no solutions and no official Adobe's words about this.

1. Did you try it on CS6? The logical thing would be to keep using that.
2. Why on earth did you start a new editing system in the middle of the project?

You may want to try starting a new project and importing the old project file. This works to recover lost projects often if trashing prefs doesn't do the trick.

Do you have any 'WIP' versions of the job - ie some iterative saves (001, 002 etc), or is there only one file that you've saved over?

Hi Paulo,

your file had an illegal cutlist element - there was a track item that had a negative start time, and ended at time 0. (It seems to be a subclip of the clip A083_C011_0202T7 0014). I'm not sure how this happened, but this was causing the project to bomb out during load.

I've hacked out the illegal track item & subclip reference from the project - here's an updated version. I think it'll load for you now:

If you ever figure out how to reproduce this error again, I'd love to know how you got the project into that state.

Cheers

SUPERHERO Wil to the rescue.......how the hell did you pull the code apart to get that detail?

Anyway Paulo, hopefully this problem is solved. A question I'm intrigued do you enable "autosave fault" to save your project at timed intervals during the edit. In theory this would allow you find an autosave before the corruption & go from there ?

Anyone ever figure out how this was fixed? We just lost a day of work because of this error. One thing to note is that this happened when our project was upgrading from CS6 to CC. One solid 8-hour edit session in CC, save and quit. Come in the next day, the main project and all autosave files won't open, same error message. Other than that, it was a pretty simple project with very basic cuts, no warp stabilizer or effects yet. This was also all RED footage (and separate wav files).

I've posted my file here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm getting this but on a project shot on DSLR that I edited in CS6. I recently installed CC as well.

Having same issue with PP CC 2015 project, autosave files same issue. Can I ask how did you hack the project file please?

You can ope a PP project in textwrangler (but not in all texteditors) and look at it from there.
If you know what to look for, it's possible to find.

Thank you Gunleik, not sure what I am looking for but will make a start with After Effect files first then with Media files. This will take awhile to work out what is causing the issue.
