So I have a pair of Music videos I need to hand over for special effects to being. They are working with After Effects and Maya.

I am currently in FCP as a ProRes 422HQ file.
I have several options in outputting.

What is the best way and cleanest codec i can hand over to guys on Windows computers that After Effects will read and Maya.

I am giving them 4K and 2K footage.

Once they are done with it What should they output it into so I can read it on my MAC.

I have to do a final grade on the footage myself so i need it in a QT codec FCP and Color can see.

PS i have this FAT 32 B.S. issue are there any other solutions then using a drive thats FAT32 i hate the 2GB max thing.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Please only respond if you have done this before.
In theory its easy but in reality its been a challenge and a half.

And I want more options then my current work flow which i am not happy with at all.

if you were giving it to me - frame sequence output from FCP.

as for the drives - we have a linux box and it reads Mac formatted drives.
the other option is if they (you comp/3d people) have a windows server, take your drives in with your laptop and copy the files across to their server.

Ok,

File format...will they except image sequence...Get Glue tools and output to DPX.

As far as drives...have a look round for an application called macfuse...and a plugin for that called ntfs-3g...It will allow you to mount an NTFS drive in read write mode on your mac...And then use NTFS drives.. Probably the easiest way.

Also have a look at the creativeworkflowhacks, FCPtoAE PLugin, will take an FCP XML sequence and make it into an AE COmposition...Very nice and handy..
