  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW Feature on Pro Wakeboarder Jeff Mckee shot on Scarlet. What do you think of color

Nice footage Patrick ,
i like the colors and levels , they are very natural ,
What glass did you use?

and wow , big tricks

Interview was shot on 70-200mm 2.8 IS II at 2.8. Put him in the shade of a tree and bounced 2 large silver boards on him. One in front and one behind.

Most of the action was filmed with 24-105mm 4 IS. Its my go to lens when standing on back of jetskis and dangling out the side of boats. Also used 70-200 for action.

Very nice man , very stable shoots ,
My favorite zoom lens , Canon 70-200 , very sharp ,
Wish someday could afford a rehoused 70-200

Nice tricks. I would have liked to have seen more surfing just aft of the boat in the boat wake.

A couple if issues: at 3:07 there is a shot of the boat that really looks muddy (yellowish green) that just does not intercut very well.
During the 4 minute time frame, there is a series of cuts that look like you had morning, daytime, and late afternoon all intercut with each other. That is a sequence where you may just have to give up on the time of day lighting and just get them all consistent.
Then take one master frame, and use it as a reference to grade all of the other shots to it for consistency for a final grade pass.

wow great video! loved the natural feel and tone. couldn't stop watching the moves. thanks for sharing!

Awesome Lorenzo thanks!

Heres another little video I just shot and edited with Scarlet. Did some of my first long exposure timelapses with the Scarlet.

That was awesome Patrick!!

Care to explain settings for the time lapse at the end :)

The final timelapse was 5k at 1fps with a bit of delay. Can't remeber exactly. I had the guy walk really really slow for about 5 minutes. Then sped up in post.

Still tweaking and working to get the best image possible but I feel like its getting really good. What do you guys think of the colors etc.

The action footage looks great. I was curious about the interview, why you decided to key light from the outside, not the inside of his face (toward the middle of the frame).
