  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDphones?

Interesting, I believe Monster designed Dr. Dre's Headphones, but in my opinion the sound quality was not there with the Dre's, but aesthetically they are the best looking sets out there. The quality of the headsets wasn't great, especially the plastic band which would break often. My favorite headphones are my Denon ADH2000's. Clearer high and midrange, and a very nice clean sounding bass, not overwhelming like the beats, but they are ugly. If RED can design a Steven Soderbergh Edition headset, with a quality build, quality sound, and great aesthetics I think this could be the first product they may mass produce for a larger market. Part of Dre's success has a lot to do with marketing, but given Jim's track record with Oakley I'm sure he can pull it off. I just hope they price competitively with the Beats by Dre.

I, along with many other audio engineers use Sony 7506 headphones because they are very transparent, and add no sound coloring of their own.
The RED/Soderbergh headphones should sound just as clean at the very minimum.
Ear buds? Oh, I hope not. Even a slight shift of the bud in the ear can change the sound drastically.

Might these be more along the lines of a wireless unit for the director to monitor the sound while on set?
