Thanks Oliver. I really need to work on my google skills.

Ciecio7 is my favorite adapter vendor on ebay. Buy with confidence.

Yeah, so I did pull the trigger and ordered one. I just wish someone in the States sold them, not for scam reasons - just so it wouldn't be a two week shipping process... thanks for the added confidence in the purchase.

Does anyone have any information about this mount or the maker...

The username is Ciecio7. I googled and didn't turn up much. Was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this mount or knows anything about the maker.

Thanks,
Zak

Hello Zak,

I bought 3 adaptors for Lomo lens from Ciecio7, and they works perfectly.
His factory is in Poland, and he makes bomb proof stuff! :)

Same here. Perfect product - he is engeneer with own workshop/manufacture. I have 2-3 adapters and all perfect too - I dont need any lens conversion anymore - true is that adapters looks much better as precision product than PL mount from Russia. Cheaper, better solution without worry about lens during conversion.

This is all good news. I look forward to getting this and tossing on some FD lenses. Thanks again for vouching.

So it arrived today. Mind you I wasn't expecting it for at least another week.

I purchased on 5/28. Poland to Boston -> arrived today. I have to shoot with some EF glass tonight but tomorrow I'm looking forward to testing this guy out.

Hey Zak, did you pay $500 for this? Interested to hear how you like the mount and the FD look on RED.

Mike

Yeah, I did. It's the only one I could find. I reached out to the Optitek guy but got no response.

I was able to mount it last night, picture attached. But only shot about 10 seconds and it was just an ambient lit lamp. By then it was pretty late and I hit the hay.

When I get home tonight, I hope to test it out a little more. But first impressions: It's built very well, it fits very well and the lens mounted to it perfectly. I started another thread about FD Lenses on Epic and a guy posted some frame grabs using the standard FD lenses...

They look nice. And these lenses can be found for pretty cheap.

I should have some time this weekend (girlfriend is traveling), so I may switch between the two mounts (EF/FD) and get some footage of a few different lenses shooting the same thing. If I do I'll post them here.

I got this mount for my Scarlet X. My old breech-lock mount lenses mount to it perfectly. But when I use the new FD mount lenses and I rotate the lens till I hear the click I lose control over the aperture. I need to "unclick" it and rotate it back an inch to be able to manually set the aperture (which is not ideal). Am I doing anything wrong?

All of the FD mounts that i've used have their own iris control built into the mount. There should be a pin in the mount and a non-marked iris control ring.

To give it control:
1. Stop Lens all the way down using its iris ring.
2. Stop down the adapter.
3. Align the iris lever on the lens (small lever with a straight edge on one side and a 45 degree angle on the other) so that the lens mount's pin contacts the lens' iris lever and rotate until the lens clicks into place.
4. Test the control with the adapter's iris ring. If you mounted the lever on the right side of the pin, you're good to go.

How did you mount it to get it working? I have the same problem with my non breech-lock FD and C7 adapter.

I have a different ebay mount, but I think they are all the same. When you are in front of camera i.e looking from mount toward sensor, make sure the ring on the mount is turned anticlockwise before mounting the lens. When lens is mounted turn that ring clockwise, it engages a pin on the back of the lens, and now your aperture ring will work.
