Why is Premiere eating up my disk space?

So I start a render and wake up to an error message that says something about my disk space running low. Sure enough my boot drive now has like 250MB of space on it. I quit Premiere and the space slowly comes back. I have all my scratch and cache, etc... settings set for places on other drives, what is going on? Any help would be great.

I'm extremely curious about this, as well, as I keep running into this, too.

Are you running Lion?

10.6.8

I normally have about 30-40GB free on my boot SSD. All my scratch and cache preferences are pointing to other disks. Yet when I render my timeline I watch my boot drive start to drastically dip in space. After a couple minutes it will already be down a few gigs, yet it's only rendered like a second or two of material, r3d with CC and other FX applied. If I stop and quit Premiere, my disk space slowly comes back up. I'm lost here. What are the invisible Adobe elves doing on my boot drive?

I have installed the iCleanMemory (Mac). I saw that the used memory wasn't cleaned out after a "cycle", and then everything went to the disk. Works for me.

If the Ram capacity is reached it cleans it out (what Pr or Ae didn't has given back to the system for that cycle), which stops shortly the flow. It is $1.99, much better than to free the memory via command line -- manually.
