  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I think I am the first and only one who didn't pass the Scarlet Test :(

I got a sad email today saying the following:

[FONT=&quot]"Thank you for your patience during the SCARLET-X Trade-In evaluation process. We completed the full factory quality control evaluation and attached to this email is the Service Quote for the replacement OLPF (original OLPF is scratched) needed to bring your SCARLET-X up to RED factory specification. Please review and respond to this email with your preferred payment method and authorization to proceed with this Service Quote amount. Once payment has been confirmed, we will be able to proceed with completing this service order for you. Your BOMB SQUAD representative will then contact you to process your new EPIC-X MYSTERIUM-X (Brain Only) sales order."

Thank god its only $250 for parts and labor to fix it and won't effect me on a time delay for the Epic. So that is the good news but just makes me sad that Wally was hurt :( But should get a call from my Bomb Squad Rep today for the Epic process and early next week I will be a proud Epic Owner :)

I just got this email :) so excited!!!
"Your SCARLET-X MYSTERIUM-X to EPIC-X MYSTERIUM-X trade-in is almost complete. Before we ship your EPIC-X MYSTERIUM-X (BRAIN only), I would like to confirm a few things with you as well as make sure you have everything you need to get the most out of your new camera.

Since you are purchasing a CAMERA, we will need you to sign and return the attached TC SLA Checklist.

Upon allocation, please allow 3-5 business days processing time before your order SO-0098166 ships FedEx 2DAY to the following address listed below:"

Yeah I had Red Armor, but they still that covers warranty stuff mine was sell inflicting I had a scratch on my OLPF, its like if i dumped it in water and wanting to have it covered by warranty. I would be a little mad about the HMDI not working but I apparently scratched my OLPF.

i have RED Armor and my Equipment insurance. so if I am covered each way. The best way to have it my buddy of mine doesn't have insurance he rents all the time and scares me to death!

Yeah I have both, but I would be upset if something like 500$ or right under the deductible came up. I guess I was under the impression RedArmor was more bullet proof. Without a doubt , the property insurance is a must, but I worry about the RedArmor being almost a false sense of security. Oh well, its done now and at least it transfers to the Epic-X trade-ins =)

I had an issue with my HDSDI signal. 700 bucks later and waiting for my Epic...

Oh? what was the issue? My SDI just spontaneously stopped working a few days ago and am wondering if it is a manufacturing issue since I cannot find a reasonable explanation for the issue (RED is looking into it now, though). Is yours the same thing? $700 to fix the SDI, I guess that is better than expected since it cost $1600 last time my power board failed. I will probably have them fix mine when I send mine in for the dragon upgrade assuming it doesn't take forever for that to come...

I had an intermittent issue, and I chalked it up to incompatible screens, since my setup I was using had a Hyperdeck attached to the back, and it was using the SDI which worked fine. Since I use the +1 adaptor, I was using the Hyperdeck as my video distribution device, and it was feeding SDI just fine to the HDMI and SDI ports on the Hyperdeck...
It did not have armour, and my warranty had just run out.
I am not very happy about the issue, as they wouldn't tell me how this could have happened, and by the looks of it, it seems like a common issue. Mine was serial 1192. Maybe an issue with early cameras?
in any case, the issue shouldn't have happened, my camera is never rented out and I baby these things quite a bit.

This thread is making me nervous. Red will get my scarlet soon and hopefully it passes without any additional payment.

My upper IO board was bad. $300 parts and labor. Not terrible but dang, an in expected cost for sure. I'm not even sure what it controls. SDI and HDMI I guess.
