I have researched that there is no way (at the moment) to set up a 5k HD sequence in CS6, so I'm wondering what settings everyone is using or recommends?

Thanks!

that is incorrect. Premiere is pretty much just like AE now where you can make whatever frame size that you desire. Just select one of the presets and then click the settings tab at the top. You can then change it to whatever frame size/ aspect ratio you desire. You can then save that preset and use it again

you can also right click a clip and select 'create sequence' - or something like that

that's also a good way to create odd frame sizes/rates - either make a mock-frame in photoshop or something hfr in quicktime or wherever else, and use that to make a new sequence

cool, thanks to you both!

I just finished a large project with lots of 5K HD footage, which I sized the sequence to match the resolution in order to use Warp Stabilizer. I had no issues, although, I ended up nesting those sequences into my final 1080 timeline.

It is horrible David....I had to convert 2 projects to Cineform just to be able to get decent render times with it.

It is only with 5kHD, and rocket or non.....
the actual editing is not terrible....but noticible lags, stutters. The render times hoewever go up as much as 5 times.
Have not tested this on 6.03, as I just avoid shooting 5kHD now because of it.

I can detail it for you in a bug report if you like....but I thought adobe was aware of this already

Looks like Wes narrowed it down. Let me check with him on the status of things.

So it looks like this was an issue with the RED support we had at the time. Red has since fixed the issue and CC has the latest Red support and should have this issue addressed.

Cheers
