IMAX installing home theatres

They say they're using a dual 4K projector system but they don't explain how you're supposed to get 4K content right now. I guess they assume it will be widely available by the time they finish building the first one.

I think this would be good for smaller independent theaters that lack the space for a full blown IMAX setup. Super exclusive small venue for birthday parties or private screenings. Very few people will be able to afford something like this (I'm guessing easily north of $1 million) so IMAX should not limit their options. Think about this, a regular theater installs one of these and they use it for birthday's or any private screening. They have a selection of 4K remastered films on hand that you can select to watch with your small group. A 4K Blade Runner birthday extravaganza? Count me in.

In linear algebra speak, 2K * 2 = 4K... Unfortunately, that's the math that many in this industry try to apply to this.
