Anyone with experience using 1K r3d files vs H24 from a canon T2i for web video shot on a green screen? Any examples??

Well, that is one specific request. I don't have any 1K r3d greenscreen stuff to show. But I have some 2k/4k r3d and some T2i green screen. I would recommend 2k and above on RED for green screen and try to avoid green screen with a T2i (but it can be done with limited results). You wanted examples so here you go, LOL. T2i vs 2k and 4k R3Ds I don't think many people are going to have 1k greenscreen examples.

Haven't done green screen, but 1k is definitely lower res than a T2i at 1080p (maybe even at 720p...) Even with a massive amount of sharpening, the 1k footage would look low-res/blurrier.

That said, you're getting 422 (or more) 16-bit colour information on the r3d compared to 420 8-bit on the h264, which I think would make it better for green screen.

... Oh, and both the beaver and chicken videos are amazing, regardless of what they were shot on.

i'm going to assume, if you're asking this question, you aren't considering crop factor.

i don't shoot 1k a whole lot... but i have both cameras. regardless of the resolution, the scarlet is going to give a higher-quality greenscreen. 1k on the scarlet will be softer as there is no in-camera sharpening like the canon does, so you'll have to sharpen it. but you'll be a lot better off shooting 2, 3, or preferably 4k and down-rezzing.

and the best thing you can do for a greenscreen is light it correctly. if you don't know what you're doing - and i'm assuming you don't - i'd hire someone locally to help you out, or spend at least a decent bit of time researching.

I think its a bad idea to shoot 1k even without greenscreen.
