My question is, Will the Tokina 11-16 Cover the Scarlet-D @ 1.41 Crop (5K)? I was about to pull the trigger on this lens because I just sold my 20mm 1.8 Sigma. But If it wont cover the new sensor then I'm unsure if its what I want to do. Please Advise.

More importantly, it covers the full frame of a 5D mk3 at 14-16mm so will certainly do similar on a Dragon, and for the money a 16mm f2.8 prime of that quality can't really be beat.

at 5k ws on my epic my 11-16 is pretty solid. really only crazy vignetting at 11 and 12mm

You guys and your goofy crop factors drive me nuts... Stop thinking that way, trust me, it makes less and less sense (not that it ever made much sense) as more cameras and sensors are released onto the market and lenses also change to accommodate. Focal lengths always mean the same thing, lenses are defined by their focal lengths and coverage circles. Sensor crops only apply if you want to relate to something. Many DSLR guys try to relate to FF35. That's fine and great, but has little bearing on the cinema or filmmaking.

It will cover Scarlet Dragon just fine. It covers 5KFF on the MX sensor just fine in my opinion, yes there is some noticeable fall-off at 11-12mm and some slight darkening in the corners at full wide at 11mm on that sensor. I would not call any of that "crazy vignetting". If you're seeing something crazy, then you may need to have your lens checked out. It more than covers just fine when shooting 4.5K or 4K on the MX sensor.

5K on Dragon is smaller than on the MX sensor. Right at 25mm wide and with a diagonal smaller than APS-C/DX format, which is what the lens is designed to cover. You're good. And I can't recommend the Tokina 11-16 highly enough!

Notice at NAB they also announced a "cinema" version with better mechanics and proper gears, smooth iris. EF mount to start, possibly others later.

This is what I need to know, I thought but I wanted to confirm before purchase.
