Hello,

I'm a french (sorry for my english) director and i want to buy two Red Scarlet. I'm lost and i need your help about the batteries problem's...
I want to know wich is the best solution between GMP, MG1, Switronix or there is an other alternative that i have not mentionned?
Other questions, if i want to buy GMP batteries, wich V-Mount plate i need on the website ? http://www.globalmediapro.com/dc/C9R6/Professional-Video/Batteries-and-Power/Mount-V-Lock/
And do you know the GMP delivery time to europe ?

And last question (sorry), why the GMP batteries 160W are only 299$ whereas the Switronix batteries 95W are 360 $ ?

Best regards,

firstly - I would recommend an Anton Bauer Plate if you don't already own batteries.

MG1, Viewfactor, "madefromatree" Camera all make Anton Bauer compatible plates. GMP is in new Zealand so you might have a harder time getting warranty on the batteries.

That's the big difference between battery brands - warranty/support - and maybe just maybe the kind of cells they use.

AB Gold Mount 3 Stud is sooo much better of a mount than a V mount though. V mount you can accidentally eject the battery pretty easily and was the cause for many a Red One to power off while shooting back in the day because the V mount pins are just...not really trustworthy in my opinion. The battery would get bumped off and then people would blame the camera - in fact it was the battery plate that was the cause of much fail.

Take a Look at the Ikan AB mount batteries - I've been pretty impressed with their 160Wh smart batteries with LCD after working with them on a recent job for a good friend of mine who had them.

Have used Chinese-made V-mounts since I bought my Scarlet - over a year ago now.
Never a problem and I bought 3 150wt units.
I found them on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/150wh-V-loc...s_Chargers&hash=item27c0046938#ht_2342wt_1352

Note they include
- a FREE (GRATIS) charger with _each battery_. They are not fancy, but they work great!
- FREE shipping
- ebay guarantees receipt of the batteries. I have dealt WITH the sellers in China and have had nothing but quick, excellent service, even after the sale
- these are the SAME model GMP sells. I mean literally, the exact battery.

I will buy from them again.

Not %, shows Voltage.
I use the ViewFactor plate. Excellent rig.

Yah GMP makes you really work to buy there products. Again - the batteries I bought off ebay were the _exact_ same battery as GMP, with none of the hassles...

Ok but the fact is that i need these batteries in maximum 2 weeks, GMP cannot delivery me in 2 weeks, so do you know a website that can quickly deliver me 160W battery who give me the percentage on the red LCD monitor?

Thank you again all

Patrick.
