  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

buy this :-)

fuel ?!! maintenance?!! it f@#$ing FLIES!!!!!

Interesting. How much fuel does it "eat" in these harsh economical times? How about maintenance? Not your regular Camry or Civic is it? :)

Actually it gets the exact same ground mileage as a 2013 4 Cylinder Camry. 28 MPG. lol

In the air it's probably closer to 10 mpg.

Not relevant? I am thinking aerial camera platform... ;)

But this is not the flying car as flying cars were conceptualized. The flying car was a car that could be driven by anyone, could drive public roads and fly from public roads (without decapitating bystanders). A car that wouldn't wreak havoc on the city if mechanical failure occurred. This is a Helicopter that can drive on the road, not a flying car. Don't get me wrong, it's cool as hell, and I want one, but is not the "Back to the Future" flying car we were promised by 2015!

It's not a helicopter, it's a gyro copter. The difference is that the rotors are not actuated by any engine, only by the flow of air. The engine rotates the pusher prop on the back, that moves the vehicle forward, and with the increasing flow of air, the rotors start rotating, creating lift. It's a hybrid plane/chopper of sorts.
There is actually a "Flying Car" in final stages of testing and certification:

I do, however like the Pal-V better at first glance.
Being a private pilot, I do fly to a lot for jobs around the southeast, and my plane can carry a lot of gear with me. I'm afraid there's more of a weight limit in these, but they are interesting. Solutions nevertheless.

Always into flying cars - I don't see how it would be very useful for filming without being able to hover.
