Hi Reduser community

With festival season over, I can finally release my documentary The Chef at the Little Washington to the public and I would love to hear your opinions. This is my first major short to be shot on my Scarlet and I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Excellent mini-doc. Had to watch it twice to try and figure out why I was so impressed.

Firstly, the subject-matter. It's not my kind of 'scene' at all, but it was still fascinating due to the expertise and level of 'artistry' on display. I also find it interesting to hear people expounding their philosophies on life and trying to explain what makes life meaningful for them.

Then there was the imagery. Despite what looked like some challenging lighting conditions, I loved the way it looked overall, technically and creatively. Despite being a documentary, the editing, compositions and grading presented something almost other-worldly, an unrealistically perfect atmosphere I could escape into for a few minutes.

The music helped with that too. I find that subtle, ethereal kind of background music mesmerizing.

So, yeah, excellent work in my opinion. Really enjoyed the experience, thanks.

That's awesome to hear as a film student, thank you.
