From a motion stills shoot at the local skate park:

Look I:

Look II:

My first time shooting with a Canon lens instead of PL glass, used the 24-70 F2,8. Focusing takes a little getting used to compared to cine lenses but the sharpness is quite impressive.

I think it looked pretty good. Not a fan of the light-leak flares though. They have their place, but like film scratches and other effects that are a byproduct of film gate motion and mechanics, they always just look wrong to me when applied to sharp and stable footage. It's like trying to smear poop on polished brass just to make it look dirty.

Domink, Sexy and nicely done, I don't argue the choice of grading nor flaring, as those IMO are always to be respected as the Cinematographer's Director's choices...

But what I argue is that you got me waiting all the first video for her to SKATE... and She never did... But then again, the title is Emily at the Skatepark, not Emily Skating... Ha ha!!

The retor 8mm grade could be cool for this piece but its too clean as it is...try grain, some scratches, a bit burning, gate weaving, jumping and light leaks as you wish. Also the signature 8mm look is has more cuts, flashier and makes those flares work if you know what i mean. I would suggest making a matte over the top and the bottom, i always do this for projects that are visual overlay heavy and specially when my aspect ratio changes.

i'd probably go skateboard a lot more often if all the girls there looked half as good as she does... lol. pretty model, nice shoes, interesting piece

I def would like to visit other parks more, its one of the funnest things about the sport, the design variety. I got my town to build a Grindline park so I typically hang out there in the bowls. Its a lot of fun skating poured in place concrete.

Damn Dominik! That was hot :) Nicely done. I'd have to agree about the light leak effect though. The image is far too clean to resemble 8mm. Also, 8mm footage was never super slow motion, so that throws it off as well. With that said, I still love it man... great work!
