Sharpness On Wide Lenses

I own a Scarlet X and I've noticed that my footage is soft when using a Zeiss ZF 25mm lens when my subject is more than about 40 feet away. My camera is set to 4K HD, I've tried the lens both wide open at f/2 and also at f/8, and the background is never quite sharp. Closer objects are fine. The image gets much less sharp at 3K and 2K.

Could this be a backfocus issue or just a problem of using Full Frame Glass on a S35 sensor.

I remember the Red One being soft in 2K mode with an 18mm Master Prime when it was wide open as a result of the glass being punched in on, and wide lenses having low resolution to begin with.

My 35mm lens is the same.

Any help is much appreciated.

All Master Primes surpass the sensor's Nyquist frquency limit at all apertures until they are diffraction limited. Hope it helps.

The FFD is too long, get your longest lens wide open, look at the moon & adjust the back focus . A tree a long way away would also work!

I am using the Canon Mount with a Nikon adaptor. I adjusted the backfocus with my widest lens, but it still looks a bit soft at 100 percent. Will try with my longest lens now. Thanks for the advice.
